Chinese New Years Traditions

Dear Mom and Dad:

We finished up our Chinese New Years visual journal page today.

At the end of the day, we did a really good clean up of our classroom. A Chinese traditions that occurs during Chinese New Years is that families are busy preparing for the new year and sweep all the bad luck away. Also it sets the tone for the New Year. A clean house means that for the rest of the year, the home will be tidy. We will have Lion Dancers come to the school this Friday to ring in the new year!

I can definitely try this tradition at home and help organize my room and clean the house ;)

We continue to play floor hockey during gym with Mr. McDougal

Also, this Friday we will be celebrating 100’s day! Can you believe it? I am 100 days smarter.

Question of the day: See if you can find 100 objects in the house that is easy to count (pasta, rice grains, cereal etc.). How did you count them? Post on the blog what you counted and how you counted it.

Love,
The Rainbow Triad

We will try to ensure the all students are using the paint cautiously but accidents to happen. Please send your child with a paint shirt or old clothes that can withstand paint stain for next week. It could be an old large t-shirt, apron etc.
