To float or not to float?

Dear Mom and Dad:

We had lots of fun working on different experiments! Today I had to make a floater sink. Ask me to tell you how I made a foam cube sink.

At the end of the day, Mrs. Ly showed us an experiment to make an egg float! I can show you how I can do this at home. Ask me to tell you what is happening in this experiment and why the egg floats.

Our 30x30 activity today: Math: looking for shapes.

Here is a great word work link to try at home: http://www.abcya.com

Question of the day: Post on the blog why the egg floated? What was the science behind it?

Love,
The Rainbow Triad

  3. Jack: because the salt and the water mixes and it makes the egg float!

  6. Jaiden B says that pencils float because they are made of wood and erasers sink because of what they are made of. He really wants to go to Science camp this summer now because of all the experimenting.
