The Three Communities

Dear Mom and Dad:

Mrs. McEvoy was away today so we had a guest teacher.

This week is Ms. Catsirelis' last week with us :( She has been an amazing student teacher. In the afternoon she showed us some videos and pictures of the provincial bird and flower of Nova Scotia. Ask me to tell you what they are. We created a brochure about Nova Scotia today. My teachers were impressed with what we were able to represent.

We took a look at a Canada map and looked at the three different communities we have been learning this year. We each got our own maps and colored the communities.

Question of the day: What is the name of the provincial bird and flower of Nova Scotia?

Love,

Rainbow Triad

Housekeeping:

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a Jersey Day, celebrating our local teams, The Calgary Flames and The Calgary Hitmen, in the playoff!  Students should come to school dressed in their favorite team jerseys and t-shirts.  If you don't have anything that suits our teams, please come wearing our team colours, Red and White or any jersey you might have!

This day is a great way to show pride in your favorite teams.  If you choose to wear a jersey belonging to another team, that's fine too!

  7. The osprey and the mayflower. If you see two ospreys you can tell if it is a girl or a boy by, the girl has a little necklace around it's chest and the boy does not. Osprey's have yellow eyes, to me their eyes look creepy. The mayflower, when it says may in the word mayflower, my birthday is in May on the 24th. I wonder if they actually found it on the 24th in May?
