Dear Mom and Dad:
We had a new student to welcome to our Rainbow triad today. His name is Ryan and we learned that some of us have a lot in common with him! He is in Ms. Deobald's class and we are very excited to have him join our class. We made sure to help him feel comfortable in his new learning environment. Welcome Ryan!
In the afternoon, we continued our inquiry about Nova Scotia. We got into our class groups and looked at the different resources and occupations in Nova Scotia. We learned that occupation means what jobs there are. Each class looked at a different resource so that we can become experts and then share it with the rest of the triad tomorrow.

Owen E - I was working on fishing. I learned that they catch eels, ginormous fish, and lobsters. They use boats to fish.
ReplyDeleteI was working on lighthouses. I learned they have more than 100 and are there to make sure that boats don't crash into the shore.

ReplyDeleteShayan learned that a lot of occupations in Nova Scotia are related to fishing.They have various fishes and lobsters in the sea there.
ReplyDeleteMy section was mining and I learned they sprayed stuff on the walls of the mine so it did not fall down. Emma. P.
ReplyDeleteDayna said her section is mining and miners. She learned that they drive in a cart under the ground. They use TNT to blow up the rocks. They spray the walls so that they stay strong and don't tumble over.

ReplyDeleteAnya is learning about mining. She learned that for mining that you have to dig deep, deep holes in the ground.

ReplyDeleteAbby says: I'm looking into the Acadians. They had to be sent away and when they came back they built a church for visitors with rocks on the bottom to keep it from blowing away.
