Thoughtful Thursday

Dear Mom and Dad:

We started off the morning finishing our writing from yesterday about “Me”. We are all great authors and are learning to write interesting sentences. For example: instead of just writing, “I have blue eyes”, I could write: “I have big beautiful blue eyes like my Dad. “ We did two rounds of daily 5 as well.

In the afternoon we had word work and then finished up some of our work to be put into our visual journals.

Mrs. Ly’s class had art in the afternoon! We are so lucky at Cranston school to an artist from the Leighton Center come to our school and do a couple of art projects with us. Ask me to tell you what we did. Mrs. McEvoy and Miss. Deobald’s class are scheduled in the next two weeks.

Question of the day: Post on the blog an interesting sentence about your self. Don’t forget to use descriptive words.

Housekeeping:

Parents, please have a conversation with your child about wearing all of their winter gear during body break and recess. We go outside each day and it is important that students are bundled up properly. We have been checking backpacks for gloves, scarves and snow pants of students to make sure they have worn everything that was brought in the morning.

Mrs. Ly’s class will be going to the “Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation” on Monday February 23. We are in need of volunteers, please e-mail Mrs. Ly if you are interested. Thank you!
