Dear Mom and Dad:
We are part of the world flock!
Today we had a discussion about how we could count all of
our folded passenger pigeons from yesterday and that were brought in today.
Thank you to the families who folded some more pigeons to add to our flock.
Riley suggested that we count them in groups of 10. Jeanne and Paige said that
we could count them in groups and then add them up to figure out the total.
We each got a pigeon and had to find a family group of 5. We
then got into groups of 10 and then counted each group by 10.
We added our information onto the website and indicated that
we have 69 to add and now we are part of the flock! We even watched the number
increase. We did some math by adding 69 to 1,228, 109. We checked our work
after pressing SUBMIT and the number went up to 1,228, 178.
We had choir today with Mrs. Jones and Mrs. McBride.
Question of the day: Post on the blog the different ways
that we could have counted our 69 folded pigeons.
Love,
The Rainbow Triad
