Pumpkins galore!

Dear Mom and Dad:

All three classes had our mapping inquiry today with Mrs. Kinsman.

Mrs. Ly and Ms. Deobald has music today with Ms. Jackson.

Thank you very much to all parents who donated pumpkins! We are grateful to have these pumpkins to observe, investigate and explore. We took a closer look at our pumpkins and talked about shadows and light. I used only a pencil today to sketch a pumpkin and used my pencil to add shading and shadows.

We watched a video that helped us learn some things we were wondering about:

Abby – “Pumpkins get washed before cutting.”

Shayan – “They’re green when they first grow.”

Paige – “The bees help make pumpkins grow”

Morgan – “Pumpkins start off as flowers”

Madison  - “There are many different kinds of pumpkins”

We started a new program called Drum Fit in gym. It is so much fun! We each get a core ball to use and it involves a lot of movement, coordination, listening skills.

Jacket Racket Program: Cranston School is collecting outdoor winter clothing items until the end of the month. If you have items you would like to donate such as: mittens, toques, jackets, scarves and snow pants, please send them with your child. We need sizes for children in kindergarten all the way up to grade 12.
