Thriller Thursday

Sorry we haven’t updated our blog for 2 days!

Dear Mom and Dad:

We added two new poems in our poetry folders and added some more words to our word wall: up, like, jump, my.  We also added some new reading strategies this week. Ask me to teach you about: Lips the fish, Iggy the Iguana, Picturing Penguin, Spinner the spider.

Ms. Deobald’s class had “Roots of Empathy” today. Ask me to tell you what this is. Each class wil have the opportunity to “adopt” a baby teacher and learn follow and document their first year of life. This is a great program that teaches children about empathy and caring for others.

In dance today we are learning the dance to the song “Thriller” with Ms. Natalka. It is so much fun.

We had word work and math in our small groups today.

We started our page in our visual journal titled “Me”. We talked about what it means to “be yourself” and wrote and drew things that we like. We discovered that many of us like the same things and different.

Question of the day: Post on the blog what one of the new strategies we learned this week was. Make sure you explain what the strategy is.

Love,
The Rainbow Triad

Jacket Racket Program: Cranston School is collecting outdoor winter clothing items until the end of the month. If you have items you would like to donate such as: mittens, toques, jackets, scarves and snow pants, please send them with your child. We need sizes for children in kindergarten all the way up to grade 12.
