Dear Mom and Dad:
We had Mrs. Southworth come and talk to our triad about
living in the north of Canada. When she was five years old she competed in dog
sledding competitions! She shared with us how she has 35 dogs. She also shared
some stories with us that were amazing! Ask me to tell you about the polar bear
stories.
We then went to the learning commons to observe the fish and
meet with a trout expert! Our very own, Mrs. Low! She is very knowledgeable
about the trout and was able to answer all of our questions and wonders. Ask me
to tell you some things I learned about alevin. (This is the stage in the life
cycle that our trout are in).
We read a non-fiction book about polar bears and answered
some questions that we came up with such as: Where do they live? What do they
eat? What happens to them through the seasons? Interesting facts.
Mrs. Ly and Ms. Deobald’s class had music today. We
continued with Mission Impossible today in gym with Mr. McDougal.
Question of the day: We learned many interesting facts today
about polar bears, dog sledding, the arctic, and trout! Post on the blog some
facts I learned.
Love,
The Rainbow Triad
Housekeeping:
There is no school this Friday because of PD day.
Words of the week!
Grade 1: help, here, jump, little, look
Grade 2: don't, fast, found, gave, goes
Please go over these words with me. I should be able to find these
words in books and the environment and spell the words as well.
Dear Cranston Parents/Guardians
The question of whether Tobogganing/sledding is permitted on
school grounds (CBE property) has been circulating lately with differing
opinions and interpretations.
After contacting Risk Management, we now have confirmation thatTobogganing/sledding
is on the list of “Prohibited Activities on CBE Property”.
In view of this, we respectfully ask for your cooperation in
adhering to this safety policy. Thanks.
Please
direct all questions to the school’s administration.
