Memoirs of a Trout

Dear Parents and Guardians of The Rainbow Triad:

Today we (the trout) were the star of the day! We are now in the next stage after the egg in our life cycle. Ask your child to tell you what stage we are in. We have been at Cranston for 11 days now and have hatched out of our eggs. In the afternoon the students drew our life cycle in their visual journals. They listened to a story called “Memoirs of a Goldfish”.  Students learned that memoirs means diary.  Students are writing their own memoirs and pretending they are trout fish! Today they started with writing about how we might feel in the egg. Some of the things written were “Help it’s squishy!” “Where’s my mom and dad?”  “I wonder what I will look like when I am born.”

Mrs. McEvoy was away today. Mrs. Deobald and Mrs. Ly's class had music.

In gym, students had Mission Impossible! Ask your child to tell you what the rules were and what some of the obstacles were.

Question of the day: Post on the blog what you think we (the trout) are thinking about right now.

Love,
The Trout

Housekeeping:

Fun lunch is on Wednesday Jan 28.

Words of the week!

Grade 1: help, here, jump, little, look

Grade 2: don't, fast, found, gave, goes

Please go over these words with me. I should be able to find these words in books and the environment and spell the words as well.
Dear Cranston Parents/Guardians
The question of whether Tobogganing/sledding is permitted on school grounds (CBE property) has been circulating lately with differing opinions and interpretations.
After contacting Risk Management, we now have confirmation thatTobogganing/sledding is on the list of “Prohibited Activities on CBE Property”.
In view of this, we respectfully ask for your cooperation in adhering to this safety policy.  Thanks.
Please direct all questions to the school’s administration.
