non-fiction books

Dear Mom and Dad:

We continued looking at non-fiction books in groups and discovered many different features found in these books.

We watched two reader's theatre's plays today. Ask me to tell you what they were each about.

In the afternoon we worked on our chart about Iqaluit and Calgary.

Question of the day: Post on the blog something you learned from reading the non-fiction books today.

Love,
The Rainbow Triad

Housekeeping:

These are our new words for the week:

Grade 1: down, find, for, funny, go

Grade 2: best, both, call, cold, does

Please go over these words with me. I should be able to find these words in books and the environment and spell the words as well.

- Please sign the report card envelopes and return it back to the school with your child. Thank you.

WE REALLY NEED VOLUNTEERS:

Please email your child’s teacher if you are able to volunteer for our Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation fieldtrip

Mrs. McEvoy needs at least 3 more volunteers and Miss. Deobald’s needs at least 1 more volunteers: Tuesday February 24.

Mrs. Ly’s class has enough volunteers now. Thank you!

  5. Aaron read about butterflies. Butterflies lay eggs in milkweed and then caterpillars come out of the egg and they eat lot of milk weed. They will have a smooth blanket around then . Then they will grow and turn out to be butterflies!
