Today was picture day. We all showed our best smiles and can't wait to show you how awesome we looked.
In math, we used the 100 chart to answer questions about numbers. There are some helpful patterns in the 100 chart!
After lunch, we had a busy afternoon. We got into three groups to do word work activities, two of our classes had music, and then we all had gym! Ask me what I did in my word work group. After gym, we started to talk about Thanksgiving, and what it means to us and what we are thankful for. We are going to put our list of things we are grateful for in our Visual Journals tomorrow.
Question of the day:
I am a number between 13 and 20. I am an even number. I am a double of eight. What am I?

ReplyDeleteAaron didn't know what an even or odd number was. He wrote 1-20 , figured out the even numbers and circled them. Then he counted 8+8 with his fingers and toes and figured out the answer was 16. Went back and saw 16 was the even number he circled too.

ReplyDeleteAnya's mom asked Anya how she would approach this problem, she said she didn't know. She also didn't know what even numbers were. Anya's mom asked her to number the numbers from 1-20 and cross out the ones that were not between 13-20. Next, Anya's mom explained what even/odd numbers were. We couldn't figure out the answer this way. So we jumped to the last clue which was "a double of eight". Anya drew 8 sticks and then doubled them up. She then counted all her sticks. She got 16. We went back to see if 16 fit in all our clues and it did!!! Yay Anya!!! Mom is proud!!!
