Mathletics

Dear Mom and Dad:

We did 2 rounds of daily 5 this morning. Ask me what I chose to do each round. In writing the grade ones are working on labeling our pictures to tell a story. Some of us are writing sentences using our kid writing. Grade twos worked on conventions today. I should have a capital letter only at the beginning of my sentence.

I can use this website to practice word work at home:
ABCYA

All three classes had music with Ms. Jackson today.

This afternoon we all logged into a computer and followed step by step instructions to get to Mathletics. I have homework assigned by my teacher on Mathletics. I should be working on the problems at home. My teacher will be able to track my progress and how I am doing. In my red folder, I have my Mathletics card attached with my username and password. This card needs to stay on my folder. It would be helpful if you could bookmark the Mathletics page on our computer and have my username and password written in a safe place.

I will show you how I log into mathletics. Please click the link below:

Question of the day: What did you do in math today?

Love,
The Rainbow Triad

Housekeeping:

We need 12 pumpkins for our pumpkin inquiry and are asking if any parents would be willing to donate a pumpkin or pumpkins. Please e-mail your child's teacher if this would be possible. We would like to have them for Monday. Thank you very much for your help!

Please note that we have volunteers that help us with our home reading so we are currently exchanging home reading books once per week.

Mrs. McEvoy - Wednesdays & Fridays
Mrs. Deobald - Thursdays
Mrs. Ly - Thursdays

The book that your child brings home can be read everyday. Ask them to read the sentence backwards, play "I spy" games, ask them to think of rhyming words for certain words in the book etc.
